Uppers
The breadth and depth of business resources at Wharton is unbelievable. From clubs to industry exploration trips to scholar programs to lunches with professors, Wharton provides students with countless avenues to explore business interests.
It’s also an extremely pre-professional place. As a result, ~95% of undergrads graduate with a job or choose to continue their education. It’s very nice to go through college feeling secure in the fact that you’ll finish employed.
Downers
No one prepares you for just HOW pre-professional Wharton is. In my experience, many students view their time at the school as a stepping stone to their career. That mentality and culture gets exhausting sometimes.
Beyond that, the majority of Wharton’s resources are useful for students interested in finance or consulting, though the school has been growing its pool of tech and entrepreneurship resources as well. If you want to pursue something outside of that, you will need to make a greater effort to seek out help and resources at Wharton.
